Features
The shingles are made of firm fiberglass felt coated with bitumen. On the top side slate or mineral granules provide weather protection. On the underside there is elastomer bitumen which connects the shingles tightly.
Instructions of use
The roofing shingles are light, easy to handle and work with. The deck must be constructed of wood, plywood or OSB (oriented strand board) and be rated for structural use as roof sheeting or roof decking. If the substrate is an old felt roofing, it must be flat, stationary and watertight. Before the roofing work is started, step-flashings and chimneys need to be sealed with Pikiband AL sealing strip. In storage the shingles must be protected from rain and sunshine.
Uses
Underlayment membrane (RoofAquaGuard) is recommended as the underlayment material for the roofing shingles; the minimum pitch of the roof is 1:5. Special shingles and strips are available for cornices, ridges and other special uses.
